EdenFiftyOne (EFO) is a literacy progress system for UK secondary schools, colleges and trusts. EdenFiftyOne teaches, assesses and tracks the 51 universal skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, supporting every learner one skill at a time.

EdenFiftyOne is built for teachers, heads of English and literacy leaders, for school, college and trust leaders, and for learners and their guardians. EdenFiftyOne is used across mainstream secondary schools, grammar education, further education colleges and SEND settings.

The 51 literacy skills are the universal skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening that sit at the core of every curriculum and exam board specification. EdenFiftyOne's founder deconstructed English exam specifications and identified that these skills form a finite library, so they can be counted, taught and tracked as a step-by-step framework.

Learners work within one dedicated skill workspace at a time. They watch an instructional video, complete Bloom's-inspired multiple-choice quizzes and can use 'Ask EFO' for guided support, before completing a free-text skills assessment. Passing an assessment updates the learner's live EFO badge and changes the colour of that skill on the 4-tier traffic light dashboard.

EdenFiftyOne uses AI to provide additional guidance within its literacy skills workspaces. AI supports micro-learning, is unavailable during assessments and is never trained on learner data. The aim is never to replace teacher judgement, learner independence or leadership oversight.

EFO AI works within a 'walled garden' framework rather than drawing on an open, unregulated knowledge source. It is ringfenced to the 51 skills and the documents, exam specifications and learning materials each school chooses to include, and student inputs are confined to intelligent, context-driven choices.

EdenFiftyOne is UK GDPR compliant and abides by the Data Protection Act 2018. EdenFiftyOne is also Cyber Essentials certified and uses stringent access controls so that sensitive learner data is only visible to authorised personnel.

Individual settings have reported their own outcomes. Ormiston Bushfield Academy reported +0.41 Progress 8 and its best-ever GCSE English result, with some students moving up two grades in ten weeks. Calday Grange Grammar reported a significant reduction in PPA administration and parental reporting time. Access Sport FE College reported GCSE resit success at Grade 4 and above from low baselines. SENDSCOPE reported easy-to-understand, step-by-step pathways that build knowledge and schema. These are results reported by individual settings and are not a guarantee of the outcomes any other setting will achieve.
